From the famed Aspen Music Festival comes the Aspen Ensemble, a mixed quintet of flute, piano and strings. Its five acclaimed musicians are united in their love for chamber music and their commitment to bringing unique, varied and scintillating performances to audiences around the world.

The Aspen Ensemble has established a first-class reputation through its signature programs featuring a variety of instrumental configurations and a depth of repertoire spanning several centuries. Press reports and audience acclaim regularly reference the Ensemble's uniquely exciting programs and thrilling performances. Recent and coming engagements for the Aspen Ensemble include concerts and residencies in Alabama, California, Colorado, Connecticut, Florida, Idaho, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Georgia, Kansas, Kentucky, Maryland, Massachusetts, Minnesota, Missouri, New York, Oklahoma, Oregon, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, South Carolina, Tennessee, Vermont, Virginia, and Wisconsin.

All highly regarded solo artists, members of the Aspen Ensemble are violinist David Perry, violist Victoria Chiang, cellist Michael Mermagen, flutist Nadine Asin, and pianist Rita Sloan.

The first violinist of the Pro Arte Quartet, David Perry has appeared as soloist and concertmaster with orchestras the world over, including the Orpheus Chamber Ensemble and the China National Symphony in Beijing. A 1985 Presidential Scholar in the Arts, Mr. Perry has been concertmaster of the Aspen Chamber Orchestra since 1991.

Violist Victoria Chiang performed as soloist, recitalist, and chamber musician around the world. Ms. Chiang has appeared as guest artist with the Takacs, Tokyo and American String Quartets, and is currently on the artist/faculty of the Peabody Conservatory of Music and the Aspen Music Festival.

Cellist Michael Mermagen has won numerous solo competitions and has an active chamber music career with many distinguished ensembles. A graduate of the Peabody Conservatory and The Juilliard School, Mr. Mermagen is principal cellist of the Aspen Chamber Orchestra.

Nadine Asin has performed with the Chamber Music Society of Lincoln Center, the Da Camera Society of Houston, the New York Philharmonic and the Metropolitan Opera Orchestra. She is principal flutist of the Aspen Festival Orchestra.

Rita Sloan has performed at New York's Bargemusic and the chamber music series of the Chicago and St. Louis Symphony Orchestras. Ms. Sloan is also a member of the piano faculties at the University of Maryland and the Aspen Music Festival.
